Concern has been expressed by Village Hall Management Committees regarding the implications of clearing, or otherwise, snow and ice from the pathways, entrances and car parks of their hall.
This is the advice from the Health and Safety Executive:
Bookings are now being accepted for the next Bite Size event on the 25th May 2010 on "Safe and Healthy Halls". Book by email stating the name of your hall, the name(s) of your delegates and whether you have any special requirements for access or food.
"At Litton Cheney we have just opened our brand new hall and needless to say we are rather proud of it, having waited several decades for one to appear. The hall is adjacent to the village school to enable cross usage and we have installed ground source heating for which we received a 100% grant. Images of the hall can be found atwww.littoncheney.org.uk
I am amazed to learn one of our halls as been advised to have their water system checked for the presence of the Legionella bacteria that causes Legionnaires Disease.
Have any other halls been advised to do this?
If so, who by?
Can you recommend anyone who can do this inspection?
