Do you live or work in Dorset and are looking to answer questions like these?

  • Where can I hold my hold my conference, reception or party?
  • What activities are going on in my local hall?
  • Where can I keep fit, go dancing, or pursue my hobby
  • Where is the next car boot sale, antiques fair or similar events
  • Is there a play school or an after school club near where I live?

The answer to all those questions, and more, could well lie here on the Dorset Halls Network because there are lots of village and community halls all across Dorset,  all buzzing with activity to interest and entertain you and with the facilities you need to host all sorts of business meetings, social events or family celebrations

Our Venue, Activity and Event finder services may help you locate what you are looking for. [See VISITOR SERVICES below]

Coming soon to a hall near you ...

The Dorset Halls Network provides businesses, voluntary groups and the general public with three primary services:

  1. The Venue Finder

The venue finder helps you track down the perfect place to hold that function you are looking to host. There is a map with participating halls marked on it so you can look for halls in your favoured area. There is also a table showing these halls sorted by capacity so you find one that can accommodate the numbers of guests you are expecting and there is the directory which lists all the information you need to know to help you make an informed choice.

  2. The Activity Finder

The activity finder is ideal if you have just moved in to a new community and you want to get involved with things going on in your hall. The activity finder can also help you find a hall where a group meets where you can develop your personal hobby or interest.

  3. The Event Finder

The event finder lists events that are coming up in halls across Dorset that might interest you. You can see them in date sequence but you can also look under specific types of event or for specific halls.

We hope you find what you are looking for. This facility launched during January 2010 and is still building up so even if you do not find what you are looking for this time please come back and look again when you have another need.

Finally, the Dorset Halls Network is a free service provided to support Dorset’s village and community halls. It is operated as partnership between Dorset Community Action and the Dorset Village Halls Association.

We want to continually improve the service we give to both the general public and the people who run our village and community halls. If you have any comments, suggestions or problems the please feedback to us using the CONTACT US form.
