The next in our series of BitSize events will be held on the 20th July 2010 at FRAMPTON Village Hall (near Maiden Newton) with a buffet lunch from 12.00 and talks starting at 13.00.

This particular event, as the name implies is, is about finance and, in particular, on reducing the costs of running a village hall. Although obviously of primary interest to treasurers all hall trustees, I hope, will find something of interest.

Dorset Halls - Service Improvements

SERVICE IMPROVEMENTS

Over the past few days we have moved the Dorset Halls website to a new Internet Service Provider and the results have been encouraging to say the least. Our original choice of provider proved to be unable to support a site with the amount of information and traffic that Dorset Halls has generated in such a short time and as such accessibility to the site became erratic, response times become very poor and random error messages were being issued.

“Breaking News!”: An Information Sharing Event for Hall Trustees

I am really sorry but It appears some people have had problems opening the booking form for this event and I am unable to find out exactly why at the moment. If you would like to attend I will gladly take bookings as an email, just give us the name of your hall and the name(s) of the delegates. If there is a fee to pay just bring it along on the day.

Dorset Halls News - February 2010

THANK YOU:

It is less than four weeks since we launched the Dorset Halls Network website and already over thirty halls have paid a visit and sixteen have put their details in to the venue finder. From my perspective that is a very encouraging start and something I will seek to build on. If you have not had a look yet I hope you do soon.

WHAT'S NEW?:

ANNOUNCING THE ARRIVAL OF THE DORSET HALLS NETWORK

I am very pleased to announce that Dorset Community Action and the Dorset Village Halls Association have come together to create the Dorset Halls Network which is a web based service to expand the amount of support we can provide to our member halls and to extend the times at which support is available. You will now have access to a library of infomation when you want it, not when the DCA offices are open or when the Halls Adviser is at work.

You can access this new service at:
