Before the turn of the last century a reading room was provided for the village by the Rector, the Rev. Richard Burdon. He died in 1919 and the reading room was then purchased by the Parish council for £177-7s-3d on 4th June 1920.

Hall Directions:
From Sturminster Newton follow the B3092 over the bridge and turn right at the traffic lights on to the A357. Take the first turning on the left - Glue Hill and follow this road for approximately 4 miles. The Antelope Pub will be on the right. Keep left at the junction and the village hall can be found on the right about half a mile further on.
