Tuesday 30th November 2010 Frampton Village Hall
Power, especially electricity, is a major expenditure for every hall. Our current work on benchmarking shows that around 25% of all running cost expenditure goes in providing light and heat in the hall. The focus for the November BiteSize is, then, on reducing the amount of power used and reducing the amount paid for power. This event is being run in partnership with da21 and the GreenAssist project which is supported by the Big Lottery Fund. The focus is on energy use; how you can measure the energy used in your hall and what you can do to use energy more efficiently, which will help reduce your bills as well as helping the planet. We may also have some more information on forming an energy club to use the buying power of many halls to obtain preferential rates, particularly for electricity at this stage.
The programme will be:
12:00 Buffet lunch plus a chance to view information on display, network etc.
13:00 Energy audits: measuring the energy used in your hall
14:00 Energy efficiency: reducing the energy used in your hall
15:00 Renewable energy: the financial benefits of installing solar panels etc
16:00 Summing up: Additional information from DCA and da21
