Woodlands Village Hall is nestled in the tranquil rural Dorset countryside among the ancient woodlands of the old Shaftesbury estate.
The Hall is a perfect venue for family events, including weddings and parties and social gatherings, as well as a popular location for arts and crafts classes, reading clubs, walking groups, and performing arts sessions. There are several picnic tables in the grounds that can be used when hiring the hall and on an ad hoc basis if the hall is not being used. For detailed information about our facilities, please visit our hire page.
Our purpose-built building is in the centre of the village, equidistant from the Methodist Chapel and the Woodlands Church of Ascension, a three-minute drive from the legendary 800-year-old Remedy Oak tree, which is purported to have been touched by King Edward VI, and a seven-minute drive to the 12th century Knowlton Church and its Neolithic Earthworks.
The Hall is run by a team of volunteers, who deal with its daily maintenance and who help organise village events. To find what we have planned for the rest of the year, please visit our upcoming events page.
