What if a hall is not in an area covered by the District Councils that contribute to the Capital Grants programme?

Areas not administered by Dorset Community Action under the Capital Grants programme usually have their own arrangements:

Purbeck District Council, as a rule, may give 10% of total project costs. This should be negotiated directly with the Council. An approach may be made at any time of financial year

East Dorset District Council operates its own scheme to its own rules and should be approached directly.

Weymouth & Portland can get Dorset County Council funding but this may be problematic as the usual funding package would require that the town or parish council would also contribute an amount. It is suggested that halls in this area should go straight for to ‘Awards for All’. Portland Town Council can help.

Christchurch Borough Council should be approached directly.
