11th August 2009 - CEMEX Community Fund

 The CEMEX Community Fund enables and assists communities local to CEMEX quarry and landfill sites carry out project which improve or enhance their local community facilities and places of interest.

The CEMEX Community Fund offers grants of between £1,000 and £15,000 for projects that:

• provide and maintain public parks and amenities when the work protects the social, built and/or natural environment
• or repair, restore buildings or structures which are of religious, historical or architectural interest.

All projects must be:

• within 10 miles of any landfill site
• open to the public for evenings or two days every week, a total of 84 days per year
• within England, Scotland and Wales.

There is a two-stage application process.

The deadline for initial expressions of interest is the 25th January 2010.
