Dorset Community Action administers the Village Halls Capital Grants Programme on behalf of, and in accordance with procedures laid down by, Dorset County Council, West Dorset District Council and North Dorset District Council. The scheme is primarily intended to enable village halls to lever funds from other sources where match funding is needed.
These grants are generally only available for improvement, refurbishment, improved accessibility or small extensions to existing halls. Funding for a complete rebuild or a new hall may be considered where there is evidence of a successful Big Lottery Fund bid that will meet a substantial part of the costs.
