How much is likely to be awarded?

For larger schemes (known as category 'A' schemes) there is no set amount and the Village and Community Halls Adviser will advise on the sum that may be awarded.  On a new or replacement hall this is unlikely to exceed 10% of the total project cost, and could be much less.

For smaller refurbishments or extensions (known as category 'B' schemes) the maximum amount of grant available from the County Council is usually 25% of the total cost of the project but this is not automatically given. Grants from the District Council allocations may be 25% or less. Grants may sometimes be awarded from both County and District but in such cases this will never exceed 45% of the total project cost. There is an expectation that the Parish Council will contribute 10% towards the project.
