Dorset Fire & Rescue - Fire Safety Events

 Dorset Fire & Rescue have been holding Safety Events for Businesses and Community Halls around the County through the year.

The next one is in Christchurch on 5th November - How appropriate - and after that, there is a special 'Christmas-themed' event on Wednesday 10 December 2014 at their Service Headquarters on Poundbury.

Concern has been expressed by Village Hall Management Committees regarding the implications of clearing, or otherwise, snow and ice from the pathways, entrances and car parks of their hall. 

This is the advice from the Health and Safety Executive:

Access to high ceilings in halls

"At Litton Cheney we have just opened our brand new hall and needless to say we are rather proud of it, having waited several decades for one to appear. The hall is adjacent to the village school to enable cross usage and we have installed ground source heating for which we received a 100% grant.
