Abingdon Hall, Iwerne Minster - Looking to create a website

 We are considering creating a website which would incorporate an electronic booking system. As the majority of halls already have this facility, we were hoping that from their experiences they may be in a position to offer us some advice on how to proceed and pitfalls to look out for. Also, how they find an electronic booking system works for them, how it actually works and if this is something worth considering. Any help would be very much appreciated

Broadband Internet usage

Have any halls rented out their Broadband connection to regular users and if so, have there been any problems ?

Do you: -

1. Set a charge i.e. hourly or standard ?

2. Change the modem access key frequently ?

3. Keep a record of downloads ?

4. Supervise ?

Booking Systems for Village Halls

A couple of halls are looking to install a computerised booking system. We know of just one, AVALON.

  • Do any of you know of any others?
  • Do you use AVALON or another one?
  • Are they any good?
  • Are they better than a diary and a pencil/rubber?
